What is SEM and how it differs from SEO?

You can direct traffic from search engines to your website using search engine marketing (SEM). This traffic may come from either organic or paid results, or from both. Pay-per-click (PPC) is used to gain traffic from paid results, whereas SEO is used to get traffic from organic results.

The primary distinction between SEO and SEM is that the former relies on free organic search techniques, whereas the latter charges for paid advertising. Additionally, SEM works instantly, whereas SEO takes time.

Among the other differences between SEO and SEM are:

• In contrast to SEO efforts, search results from SEM appear to users as advertisements.

• SEM results have ad extensions, whereas highlighted snippets are included in SEO results.

• Each time a user clicks on an advertisement, the website owner is charged. When a user clicks on a website, the owner of that website is not charged.

website's worth is increased over time via SEO activities. The results of SEM efforts are short-term and unsustainable.
